The author [possibly Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah] conveys family news: Mahmud Khan and Ma‘sumah Khanum both have a cold and Aqa [Nizam al-Saltanah] is preparing for his trip to Kirman. She talks about Salar Muhtasham's telegrams from Tabriz and the unrest there. ‘Izzat al-Saltanah describes the renovations in the Baha’ al-Mulk's garden. On the opposite page there is a note in a different handwriting about choosing a place, probably for vacation.

Sayyid Yahya Adib al-Shu‘ara’ to ‘Abd al-Husayn Mirza Farmanfarma, 1890
Haji Sayyid Yahya Adib al-Shu‘ara’ (from Tabriz)'s petition discusses the pension of Mulla Yahya and ʻAbd Allah Bayg, the hardships the author went through during his pilgrimage to Mecca, and the delay in paying one-third of Mulla Yahya's belongings to his inheritors. This delay was caused by the heir of Haji Muhammad Baqir who is the Kadkhuda (village chief) of a village, which is owned by Surur al-Saltanah. Telegram from ʻIzzat al-Saltanah to Hakim al-Mamalik, 1900
ʻIzzat al-Saltanah writes about the hot weather in ʻAtabat, her heat intolerance causing her more panic attacks, her children not being well and their longing for their father, the difficulty of being far apart from her husband for the past three years, and her financial problems. She asks Hakim al-Mamalik, the Minister of the Court, to mention her situation to Muzaffar al-Din Shah and get his permission for her to go to Damascus with her children and husband during the summer.
